How should I format names?
Enter one name per line in Names (one per line). The tool normalizes blank lines and warns about case-insensitive duplicates.
What does Dedupe do?
Dedupe merges case-insensitive duplicates while keeping first-occurrence order so one person is not counted twice.
How does Shuffle order differ from Pick winner?
Shuffle order reorders the entire list in the textarea—useful for speaking sequence. Pick winner selects one or more winners from the pool.
What is Reduced motion?
When checked, winners appear immediately without the suspense animation delay.

What is Load database?
It loads a built-in SSA-inspired sample of popular American given names for demos—not a live census API.
Can saved lists sync across devices?
No. Saved personal lists are local to this browser.
How do I reuse a weekly roster?
Save the list with a name in Options, then Load that saved list before your next meeting.
